Cooling Peppermint Foot Spray

The Body Shop makes an absolutely delicious Peppermint Foot Spray that not only refreshes tired feet, but helps control stinky teenage feet :). It feels heavenly on a hot day, too. But at $10.00 for 3 ounces, it's an expensive treat. Here is my homemade version for a fraction of the price.

1 ounce water
1 ounce isopropyl alcohol (you could also use witch hazel or cheap vodka)
5-10 drops peppermint essential oil*
5-10 drops tea tree oil*

Mix all ingredients and store in a small travel spritz bottle. You can keep it in your bathroom, but storing it on the fridge is a special treat.

Peppermint oil creates a feeling of coolness on the skin. Tea tree oil is reputed to contain antibacterial and anti fungal properties, both of which come in handy on sweaty feet!

* Note on essential oils: essential oils applied directly to the skin can burn, they always need to be in some type of carrier to diffuse them. Usually that carrier is an oil, such as coconut or sesame. Because this mix  have any carrier oil, it is best to start with a lesser amount of the essential oils and test it for both the concentration of the aroma as well as your skin tolerance. You can always add more if desired.

Saving money and feeling good works for me!
