On being grateful, even when I don't always feel like it.

Lately I've been in a bit of a funk. Mister is working across country because of the economy. Pookers(DD1) has acted up to the max! Pumpkin (DD2) has turned in to a full-fledged teenager, hormones and all, with her ipod continuously glued to her ears. And Diva (DD3) has been M-O-O-D-Y!

The enormous amount of housework has gotten to me, since no one will help. The dogs have been behaving badly. And it seems like everything is breaking at once. I look at all the crafty, creative women who are blogging out there, and I think to myself "I'd love to be them." In truth, right now I'd just settle for the house to stay clean!

I need to get myself out of this funk. And I realize the way to do it is by not focusing on what is going wrong with my life right now, but by what is going right.

So in that spirit, I want to start a list of what I am grateful for:

• I am grateful that, in this economy, my husband still has a job.

• I am grateful that my children are healthy.

• I am grateful that we have food in our pantry
.
• I am grateful that when I mess up and get angry, I have the chance to apologize and start over.

• I am grateful that I have found a place to blog about what is going on in my life, and to read about some other amazing, talented women. You all give me hope and inspiration. Thank you.

Today is going to be a great day. I can't wait to see what is in store for me!

I love this list. Especially the part about being able to mess up and ask for forgiveness!

YOur post made me CRY I could of written it too. It is hard being a mom to all of the kids and being a good housekeeper and companion too.
I have 4 children and I too am overwhelmed. Not to mention I have my unwed pregnant niece (who's giving up her baby 4 adoption) here with her dd who's 20 months old for a week too.

I so too need to look on a brighter side and be thankful for the other things thanks. HUGS
