Easy Paint Clean Up- Works for Me Wednesday

We've been doing a lot of touch up painting around the house lately. Seems like just about every wall from the 4 foot mark down is covered in handprints. Hmmm... how did that happen?

Because we are doing a little at a time, that means a lot of set up and clean up. I absolutely detest cleaning out painting supplies. For one thing, it makes a bigger mess than it's worth. For another, I don't think you ever truly get them clean. But disposable supplies are expensive, too, so I want a way to cut down on costs and make them last as long as possible. Here are my two favorite ways of doing that.

1. If you are going to be using the same color paint in the next day or so, take your entire roller and put it in a 2 gallon zip-lock bag and pop it in the freezer. Then, about an hour before you are going to start painting again, just pull it out of the freezer and it will be ready to use on the next wall.

2. This is my favorite trick! Instead of using disposable liners in your paint tray, put the entire tray INSIDE a plastic trash bag, then use the bag as your liner. When you are done, simply turn the bag in on it's self to clean and dispose of the excess paint. Easy Peasy!
