Are you ready for some FOOOOTBAAALLLLL? Black Bean Queso Dip

I'm not a huge football fan. I only watch because my husband loves it. I do, however, like to watch the Superbowl, mainly for the commercials.

This evening, I will be serving this as we see creative minds have come up with for our amusement, and hopefully, to get our money from us come Monday morning.

Paula Deen's Black Bean Queso Dip

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons chopped onions

  • 1 (4 ounce) can green chilies, chopped

  • 1 tomato, diced

  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon paula deen's house seasoning *

  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans with jalapenos

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 (4 ounce) package Velveeta Mexican cheese, diced

  • 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, diced 

  • Directions:

    Prep Time: 10 mins
    Total Time: 20 mins
    1. 1 Melt the butter in a skillet.
    2. 2 Add the onions and sauté until tender, about 5 minutes.
    3. 3 Add the green chilies, tomato, cilantro and House Seasoning and cook for 5 minutes longer.
    4. 4 Add the beans and cheeses, and simmer until hot and bubbling.
    5. 5 Serve hot with white-corn tortilla chips.
    * House Seasoning Mix
    1 Cup Salt
    1/4 Cup Garlic Powder
    1/4 Cup Pepper
     
    Mix together and keep in a spice shaker for everyday use.
